Ambassador Program
Initially, in 1986, Tom Miller established The Rocker Club as the Castle Rock Chamber’s hard-working volunteer committee. It was formed as a coalition of business professionals who acted as Chamber representatives within the Castle Rock community. Later, this program was renamed as The Ambassador Program.
Presently, the Ambassadors are an all-volunteer organization comprised of approximately 24 men and women of Chamber member firms who serve as the public relations and retention arm of the Chamber.
The Ambassadors provide understanding and confidence in the Castle Rock Chamber among business men and women As highly visible and prestigious volunteers, the Ambassadors serve as the Chamber’s primary liaison to Castle Rock Chamber members and play an essential role in membership retention, recruitment, anniversary calls, ribbon cuttings, conveying member needs and/or concerns to Chamber Staff and garnering support for the Chamber.
Each Ambassador makes an annual commitment to build lasting relationships in the community and to assist in fulfilling the Chambers mission.

Ginny Wainright, of Send
Out Cards, has been named the Castle Rock Chamber of
Commerce Ambassador of the Year for 2011. Thank you for going above and
beyond, Ginny!!
The Ambassador’s program was started nearly twenty-five years
ago as a way to involve Chamber members in public relations,
recruitment, and member retention activities. Among other
duties, the twenty-four Ambassadors mentor new members,
maintain ongoing contact with all members, and provide
feedback from the membership back to the Chamber leadership
and staff.
That’s a lot of outreach and the Ambassador who documents the
most liaison activity earns the Ambassador of the Year award.
Ginny’s point totals for 2011 set a new record for the program
and this was driven in part by very spirited competition with
runners-up Heather Browning of Colonial Benefit Group and also
Sue Turner of Proforma Image Branding.
One of the most important functions of an Ambassador, in
Ginny’s opinion, is to make sure Chamber members are aware of
the many diverse opportunities for networking. “You never know
where your next customer or lead is coming from. Serving on
committees, volunteering for events, and participating in
programs like Business after Hours, Business over Breakfast,
the Castle Rock Stars (Young Professionals), and the Leads
Groups puts you in touch with so many business professionals.”
Ginny is an independent distributor for SendOutCards, an
innovative service that allows subscribers to customize
greeting cards with their own signature and personal message
and even attach a gift. It’s all done online and printing,
stamping, stuffing, and mailing is done for you. Ginny
describes SendOutCards as a virtual card store where you can
choose from more than 15,000 cards and then customize the
message however you choose.
Maintaining contact through personalized cards and notes is
consistent with how Ginny approaches her business marketing
and her duties as an Ambassador. “I really enjoy getting to
know the people behind Castle Rock businesses—what motivates
them and how they got where they are. Being an Ambassador has
really helped my business, but it’s more than that. If you
help enough people get where they want to go, you’ll get where
you want to go.”
The Castle Rock Chamber board and staff congratulate Ginny and
thank her for the many tireless hours she gave assisting the
Chamber this past year. Chamber Ambassadors are an essential
part of organizational functions. With the dedication of those
like Ginny, the Chamber is able to offer many complimentary
programs, trainings, resources and other services to local
businesses.

Sue Turner, of Proforma
Image Branding, is December's Ambassador of the Month
Sue Turner is a Denver native, and has lived in Castle Rock
for sixteen years with her husband Brett, and son, Steve, all
of whom work in their own business, Proforma Image Branding.
She moved to Castle Rock when Littleton
started getting “too big.” She and her family
love the small town feel, and the sense of
community that is typic al of small towns. Even though Castle
Rock has grown a lot in the time she’s been here, Sue feels it
has maintained the small town feel, and frequently talks about
how “they roll up the sidewalks at night.”
Sue is in her second year as an Ambassador. She has been a
strong advocate for the Chamber since she joined more than
four
years ago. She enjoys being an Ambassador
for the camaraderie that it brings, as well as
the opportunity to mentor new and potential
members.
Being an Ambassador provides the opportunity
to take an active role in the community and
make a difference. The role of Chamber
Ambassador also def ines you as a person who is interested in
building business relationships, encouraging new business
leaders to become more involved and generally making this
community great place to work and live.
It is the same reason Sue enjoys being a
member of the chamber - for the relationships
she has developed, and many strong friendships as well. Having
clients become friends is what being in business is all about!
