The Philip S. Miller Library, part of Douglas County Libraries, is located at 100 South Wilcox in the heart of Downtown Castle Rock. The library is your one stop for free access to information, books, DVDs, videos, CDs, magazines, entertainment for every age, life-long learning and arts and culture.

OnSite, the extraordinary new building is home to the soothing reading sanctuary, the ultra-cool Aloha Teen Tower, a delightful children's area, the LMC Solutions Adult Literacy Center, public meeting rooms, quiet study rooms, cutting edge Internet access, stunning examples of fine art and the administration and support services of Douglas County Libraries.

The Reference Librarians at the Philip S. Miler Library are your personal guides in finding a world of information, reading suggestions, and access to the many resources provided through the library.

The library is also home to the Douglas County History Research Center, collecting and preserving the history of Douglas County, the High Plains and the Divide areas of the Front Range. The staff of archivists can assist you in using the collection for documenting land use, tracing ancestors, research, historic photo usage and enjoying Douglas County's distinctive history. DCHRC welcomes donations of historical materials relating to Douglas County history. Materials are preserved according to archival standards so that they will be around for future generations to study and enjoy.

The Philip S. Miller Library offers story times, reading programs for all ages throughout the year, entertaining and educational programs for every age, special events, an outdoor gazebo featuring weekend summer entertainment and more.

OnLine, www.DouglasCountyLibraries.org offers access to the Douglas County Libraries' catalog, 24 hour reference service, informational databases and resources, InterLibrary Loan, online book clubs, a reader's forum, programs and special events listings and calendars, homework help, special sections for kids and teens and links to community resources.

Materials from any Douglas County Library can be returned to the Philip S. Miller Library.

No matter where your interests and talents lie, the library has a variety of volunteer opportunities including work with books, children, senior citizens, special events and computers. Volunteers gain job skills, personal growth, and community involvement. Many volunteers who are new to the area become more involved in the community by volunteering at the library. The library often writes job references for people wishing to enter the job market. Volunteer work at the library can also be applied to high school graduation requirements and court-ordered community service.

The library is open Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 9 pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 am to 5 pm and Sundays from Noon to 5 pm.
