Spring brings the Front Range Showcase where consumers browse booths displaying all that Castle Rock has to offer in shopping, business, home, garden and play. This trade show brings thousands of people who want to be entertained and educated on the different products and services in the area. Entertainment on the main stage and informational seminars augment this well attended Showcase. Located at the Douglas County Events Center, 500 Fairgrounds in Castle Rock, this is a two-day event. The Castle Rock Chamber hosts and coordinates this annual event. Contact us at (303) 688-4597 or email Melissa Mares.

On the first Sunday in June, more than 7,000 riders spin their wheels in the Elephant Rock Bike Tour. Courses range from 16 to 100 miles in length with Castle Rock being the start and finish line. Once the trek is done, riders fill up on delicious food, brew and enjoy the festival activities. And, believe it or not, every year there is a real live elephant present at the event, which adds to the fun. www.elephantrockride.com

Another favorite summer event, is our annual Golf TournamentClick here for an application, so you can join in the fun.

Truly a highlight of the summer includes the Castle Rock WineFest where over 20 Colorado wineries gather to present their award-winning wines in an exquisite outdoor setting at The Grange facility in The Meadows at Historic Castle Rock. Stroll in the park and enjoy wonderful fare from area chefs, culinary demonstrations, fine artisans, ice carving and a grape stomp. Live music fills the air throughout the day. The lazy days of August celebrate the charm of the Old-fashioned County Fair and the tradition of the Douglas County Fair Parade and BBQ. These two events have been held for over 65 years. This week showcases bronco busting rodeos, carnival rides and parades complete with cotton candy, hot-dogs and lemonade. After the downtown parade on Saturday, a scrumptious BBQ with all the fixin's is held at the Castle Rock Fire Department. To top things off, an evening concert is held at the Douglas County Events Center. Contact information for the Fair and Concert is (720)733-6941 and their Web site is: www.douglascountyfairandrodeo.com
If you would like to participate in the Parade, email Melissa Mares or call

Indian summer in September begins with the biggest annual celebration in our historic Wilcox Square. Beginning the weekend after Labor Day, more than 20,000 people attend ArtFest. This art show is an eclectic mix of culture, art and entertainment in a casual outdoor setting. We offer a Children's Imagination Zone to ensure a family friendly outing. More than 145 artisans from across the nation are featured at this favorite cultural event. For additional information, call (303) 688-4597.

November is another special time in Castle Rock. That's when our oldest traditional celebration, Starlighting, takes place. Kids, parents and grandparents become wide-eyed as Santa Claus lights the giant star on top of The Rock at Castle Rock. The Saturday before Thanksgiving, the whole town joins in to sing Silent Night while sipping hot chocolate and lighting holiday candles. Enjoy carriage rides, a live nativity scene, carolling groups and more at this home-town festive event.
